DRESS CODE
It is the intention of the Dress Code Policy to provide a set of guidelines with which members and guests are expected to demonstrate discretion and good judgement. These guidelines apply to all persons on the golf course whether playing or not. It is the responsibility of each member to conform to the Dress Code, and to ensure that their guests do so as well.
The Dress Code for the course is as recommended by the various golf associations which require players to dress neatly and appropriately, in keeping with seasonal fashion changes.
GENERAL
- Hats, caps, and visors are NOT to be worn backwards
- Members are responsible for informing their guests of the Dress Code
- Tournaments and Briars Resort Guests will be informed by Pro Shop staff at time of booking of Dress Code.
MEN
Allowed:
- Shirts with a collar or either turtleneck or mock turtleneck, and tucked in at all times.
- Golf slacks or golf shorts with a belt.
Not Allowed:
- Round neck shirts including T-shirts, tank tops; see-through shirts; shirts with slogans, numbers, or illustrations
- Jeans or denim of any kind or colour; cargo pants or shorts with expandable side pockets; tennis shorts; sweatpants; sports pants; cut-offs; spandex or warm-up suits.
WOMEN
Allowed:
- Shirts with collars, turtlenecks and mock necks
- Full length slacks, capri slacks, golf skirts, golf dresses and golf shorts must sit no less than halfway down the thigh.
Not Allowed:
- Round neck shirts including T-shirts, tank tops; shirts with slogans, numbers, or illustrations; see- through shirts; halter tops.
- Jeans or denim of any kind or colour; cargo pants or shorts with expandable side pockets; tennis shorts; sweat pants; sports pants; cut-offs; stirrup pants; short shorts; spandex leggings (unless worn under a skirt or dress) or warmup suits.
The professional staff is empowered to enforce the appropriate Dress Code. Any golfer not adhering to the dress code will be refused entry onto the course. In addition, the professional staff will report to the Golf Committee any members who repeatedly fail to observe this Dress Code. The Pro Shop staff has complete authority and discretion to rule implementation of this Dress Code.
